Four years in the making, Booze Radly has released its first full-length album Haunted Mind. Raw, expressive, anthemic lyrics spawn a relatable, guttural tone. A momentous, cathartic outpouring ensues. Instrumentation runs excitedly through the streets, while collectively tapping into unfiltered, lyrical resolve. You can find Booze Radly performing again in town on Saturday, July 20 at West Philly DIY space Haus of Yarga.

07.18: Grace Ives brings lo-fi synthpop to Elsewhere
Lo-fi synthpop artist Grace Ives released her second album — appropriately titled 2nd — this past April. New Track: “bed” – Bad Heaven Ltd.
"bed" is the latest single to emerge from strength, the forthcoming album from Bad Heaven Ltd., which is due out on August 2. John Galm (formerly of Snowing) shares that the song "is about being eaten alive. It’s about the dream of relief that comes from living with a chronic mental illness.” The recording hovers between a low-key, illuminated contemplation and bursts of unencumbered feedback. The dichotomy of sound between delicate moments and distorted ferocity provides a multidimensional, musical image.
Stacey Kelleher creates an alt-pop atmosphere too rich to forget, plays ONCE 07.10
You can easily get lost within the thick dream-pop atmosphere of Boston’s Stacey Kelleher: the Berklee College of Music graduate has a habit of immersing listeners into her music with sensual layers of acoustic guitars, epic synth swells, and hazy vocal harmonies. Her self-titled debut album last year showcased the singer/songwriter’s ability to take prominent alt-pop elements and blend them with hints of British blues for a mix entirely of her own. Kelleher seems equally comfortable behind an acoustic guitar as she is at the vocal helm of a grand pop music production, the confidence appears to stem from her songwriting which is intimate in nature but passionate in delivery. Stacey Kelleher is bringing that duality to ONCE in Somerville on July 10th, and it should be a great time. We are streaming “All I See” in anticipation below. – Rene Cobar
Dr. Squee Gittum
Filmmaker and comedian Zane Rerek dropped his debut EP, “CBD Soda”, on July 1st under the moniker of Dr. Squee Gittum.
The EP demonstrates a range of influence from the harsh electronics and hazy psychedelics of Tobacco and Black Moth Super Rainbow (“What Is It THIS Time?” and “CBD Soda") to the graceful piano drops of Moby (“Iced Coffee”).
New Music Video: “Everything is Nothing!” – Canine 10
"Everything is Nothing!" represents Canine 10’s half of their split vinyl with Secret Nudist Friends, released via Good How Are You Records. You can catch Canine 10 at The Pharmacy on Saturday, July 27, with Debonair, Nothing Wrong, and A Very Special Episode.
Kleptokrat release new EP, play Rose Gold on 7/9
Combining elements of pop, jazz, soul and heavy rock into an appealing progressive mix, Brooklyn’s Kleptokrat is a band intent in expanding the parameters of alternative rock. Their newly released sophomore EP “Momentarily, to Grace” boasts five impeccably recorded, genre-twisting tracks. Soulful horns and sweet, jazzy female lead vocals establish the mood on opening song “The Great Leap Forward.” Over the track’s four minutes, precise, angular structures give way to floating ambient interludes that merge together with beguiling charm. “Jumping Ship” applies those light and airy vocals to a lyrically dense story of relationships coming undone, punctuated by heavy bass, sax and drums. “Kleptocito” further adds touches of latin rhythms to what becomes an over five minute instrumental tour-de-force. Final cuts “The View at Bethlehem” and “Body in the Room” bring back those engaging, honeyed vocals over alternately dreamy-to-frenzied compositions. The band kicks off their summer tour at Rose Gold on 7/9, followed by a stop in Philly on 7/11. Full tour dates can be found here. – Dave Cromwell
Milky Maze crafts timeless ethereal folk, plays The Glove 7.12
Maisy McVicar’s music is not of this time, and possibly not of this terrestrial plane. Recording under the project title Milky Maze, she creates haunting, beautiful folk, lyrically reminiscent of turn of the century Dust Bowl music, accentuated by echoing, distant instrumentation that places the final product somewhere between Dave Van Ronk and the Elephant 6 Recording Company. At times on her latest effort, hank, guitars and banjos become so gain-heavy they attain an other-worldly quality, becoming monoliths of sound that, alongside McVicar’s ethereal falsetto, deliver a final product that is both somber and spiritual. It’s necessary listening for fans of experimental folk, and promises a celestial performance at The Glove on July 12th, alongside Joanna Stemberg, Liam Kirby, and Michael. Listen below. -Connor Beckett McInerney
