YAASSS is a musical affirmation of one’s kinkier side, of unapologetic gratification through sex, drugs, and shisha-tinged psych rock. However, beyond neon pink fishnets and moshing through a sea of cigarettes, you’ll find a unique blend of hallucinogenic glam pop and Middle-Eastern guitar riffs (a glorious side-effect of their self-proclaimed “falafel rock” aesthetic). YAASSS is the queer carnivalesque personified: humor, chaos, and a subversively good time. Get down and get dirty with YAASSS at a free show at Baby’s All Right on 11.21. – Amanda Ogea

More info here.
We created a YouTube playlist of their recent videos, check it out!
New Track: “The Last Dog” – Inlets
Sarah Schimeneck (Mercury Girls, Pet Milk) has teamed up with Jeff Zeigler (Valley Exit, Arc in Round) to record under the moniker of Inlets. With “The Last Dog,” the duo casts a cinematic cloud. The two-headed combination of piano and synth looms, generating an ominous, windy stir that is further highlighted by the trailing echo of Schimeneck’s vocals. That elegant, isolated openness is beautifully dangerous.
Ryan Egan plays Rough Trade on 12.13
Catch Ryan Egan at Rough Trade on December 13 with Maybird. The NYC-based indie pop artist dropped his latest single, “Tongue of Yours,” back at the end of September. Egan’s musical strengths – silky, emotive vocals at the forefront of no-frills production that gets out of the way of his voice — shine throughout the slice of catchy, melodic pop. “Finest Hour” is another cut worth checking out from Egan’s burgeoning oeuvre. The production here is a bit more inventive than on other Egan tracks. Building layers of synths and percussion make this a danceable, joyous burst of indie pop. -juan leon

Ben Pagano & The Space Machine play Secret Project Robot on 11.15
With a new track under their belt, Ben Pagano & his space rock band The Space Machine take the stage at Secret Project Robot on November 15th. The track — titled "Members Only" — details the current political situation in the U.S., with lyrics and music penned by Pagano. While the bass-heavy song sounds like a moody cruncher on paper, in reality, it talks about how everything bringing down the world today will become long forgotten in the near future. You can listen to the song in the embed below, and hear more of Ben Pagano & The Space Machine live at Secret Project Robot on the 15th. – Will Sisskind
FITNESS release debut EP Aggroculture, play the Fonda on 10/12 & 10/13
FITNESS ask for some relief on their debut EP, Aggroculture. The electro-rock duo, comprised of Max Collins and Kenny Carkeet, conjure a cool and relaxed vibe over immaculately rendered melodies. It’s a serviceable sound that’s performed with a slick and soulful groove, though behind the self-composed confidence lies a helplessness in the grip of the societal anxieties that penetrate our daily life.
The duo is going on a short West Coast tour opening for The Sounds to promote Aggroculture, which includes two hometown shows at the Fonda on November 12 and 13. Juan Rodríguez
GHOST GRL Releases New Single “Holy” Ahead of Winter Tour
Gianna Botticelli, AKA GHOST GRL, is a Boston based ambient indie rock artist from Boston, creating emotionally charged ballads and tackling mature subject matter. As a preview to her upcoming Winter tour, Gianna was gracious enough to give The Deli a sneak peak at her new single, "Holy". The song is a change of pace for GHOST GRL fans, maintaining the mellow qualities of her previous work, while adding a heavier orchestration. About the track, Gianna says, "I want it to represent the inner struggles everyone has to deal with. The ones you never want to really talk about."
Listen to the track on the player below and be sure to check back here for upcoming tour dates. -Brian Varneke
Big Bill Releases New Video For “Pharmacy”
The high falsetto warble of Big Bill’s nonsensical punk is as energizing as it is entertaining. Formed in 2011 by the Braden brothers, Big Bill continues on Austin’s punk legacy with local bands like the Big Boys clearly influencing their sound. The band’s debut LP, Stand By Your Bill, comes out on November 17 and "Pharmacy" is one of their first singles. The video, which is directed by Andy Ray Lemon, channels elements of Asian karaoke videos and 80’s era elemental video effect. Four random punker girls mime the song’s lyrics in one of Big Bill’s suprisingly more normal videos with a catchy but morbid lyrics togoalong with it. Big Bill is a perfect mix of humor, anti-establishmentism, musical talent, and the absurd – so support them by buying their debut LP, Stand By Your Bill, when it comes out next Friday.
