Isador releases debut single “Falling”

Posted on:

Warren Heller, formerly of Dream Logic and now performing as Isador, has released his first single under his new moniker called "Falling". The new track comes as Heller’s first as a signee of 300 Entertainment, the label of Fetty Wap, Migos, and Young Thug. "Falling"’s repeating lyrics and building echoing vocals have a trance-like quality about them; when taken with the thumping beat, the song takes on an intoxicating groove much like Heller’s remix of Daft Punk’s "Get Lucky", which in 2013 alerted many new listeners to this rising talent. Basic Printer Releases “Good Weird” Featuring Del Florida to Help Stop Human Trafficking

Posted on:

Basic Printer  and Del Florida have brought us anything but ‘basic’ music.  With this latest release titled "Good Weird," we get funky melodies mixed with electronic beats and jazzy harmonies.  It’s REALLY good…in a weird way!  Changing the world with this track, Basic Printer is donating $1 per Facebook share of their latest video to a charity called "Free For Life International" – a non-profit that saves victims from human trafficking.  I love to support a band with an awesome agenda, and this is one I can get behind!  While this is a band who has a truly unique sound, they’ve been influenced by Tobacco, Radiohead, and Elephant 6 Artists.  So go share their video to break Basic Printer’s bank!  – Christine Harazim

QTY releases debut LP, embarks on headline tour, plays Irving Plaza on 10/28

Posted on:

NYC rock duo QTY shares their latest single ‘Michael’ in advance of an October-November headline tour and releases of self-titled debut album on 11/3.  Produced by Bernard Butler of iconic 90’s Britpop band Suede, the album promises an excess-free listening experience full of hooks and charming character.  The single (streaming below) delivers that with a thoroughly catchy chorus “that’s how it goes.  You’re alright until you’re sweating chemicals.”  Clever lyrics are woven throughout, with one verse stating “I miss the stresses of being strung out a couple months – now all my stress is from what somebody else wants.”  Deep voiced and conversational, singer Dan Lardner channels Lou Reed’s style, while cohort Alex Niemetz adds female harmonies and essential guitar licks.  The band’s album will be released on Dirty Hit records, and will be supported by a tour starting on 10/11. The NYC stop will be on October 28 stop at Irving Plaza.  – Dave Cromwell

Announcing The Deli Philly’s 9th Anniversary Bash at PhilaMOCA w/The Retinas, Them Jones & So Totally!

Posted on:

Dear Deli Readers,

Yes, it’s about that time of year again! We will be returning to our home away from home, PhilaMOCA, on Saturday, October 14th for The Deli Philly’s 9th Anniversary Bash, and we are psyched to announce this year’s lineup. You may remember our headliners for the evening. (Or maybe it’s about time you get to know them.) The Retinas threw down with us last year, alongside LOUDS and Suburban Living (who are currently on tour with Frankie Rose – hope that you are having a blast, fellas!), and were recently voted The Deli Philly Best Emerging Indie Rock Artist, so we are thrilled to see them graduate to this year’s headlining slot. They’ll be joined by two rad newcomers to the event, who have both received Record of the Month honors from us. “Reviving and reinventing soundscapes reminiscent of the Age of Aquarius” (September 2016), Them Jones are one of the talented emerging torchbearers of Philly’s ever-evolving psych-rock/pop community, and providing us with “the ideal soundtrack for winter sadness” (January 2017), So Totally will surely melt our hearts. It will certainly be a night of music not to be missed!

We are also happy to be donating all proceeds from our annual celebration to the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), a nonprofit organization “dedicated to fighting hate and bigotry and to seeking justice for the most vulnerable members of our society.” Whether you realize it or not, our staff (past & present) is made up of many proud immigrants and members of the LGBTQ community, who encourage all of our readers to do what you can to push back against this wave of hate that has risen in our society, emboldened as of late by the dishonorable Troll-in-Chief.

We hope that you’ll be able to join us for a fun evening of good vibes, great music and no hate! For more info, go HERE.

Much love,

Q.D. Tran & The Deli Staff

Weekend Warrior, October 6 – 8

Posted on:

Cherry’s debut full-length album, Dumbness, is out now via Lame-O Records, and this Saturday, the Russell Edling-led outfit finds its way into South Philly’s Boot & Saddle. Dumbness melodically awakens memories, meditatively tapping into past. An eerie familiarity looms throughout the album; it stirs in a fuzzy friction of reflective folk, as one comes home after a long absence realizing that time alters people, places, and perspectives. It’s a temporary time warp, linking a cross-section of genres, without running off course. Tonight, they’ll supported by the at ease, slow-burning sounds of Yankee Bluff, and things will be kicked off by Clasp, featuring Kat Bean (Amanda X). – Michael Colavita

New Track: “Wit” – Ralphiie Reese

Posted on:

A few weeks ago, Ralphiie Reese‘s new release, Stylebolgia: Part I uv III, hit the open air. Produced by Crabskull, “Wit” sits in a soul/R&B beat, while the emcee spits cold, calculated fire. Lyrically threading the needle, the track is relentless, while remaining smooth. It serves as both a challenge delivered in a stream of consciousness.
