Hailing from Brooklyn, Phresher has quickly become one of his borough’s brightest emerging emcees. Rooted firmly in the trap sub-genre, he delivers crisp lyrics in a distinct, raspy voice and with energy always dialed up to 11. On tracks like his most recent "Wait A Minute," Phresher simply doesn’t quit, delivering perfectly cadenced bars, over a synthy, almost sinister beat. The song showcases his unique ability to evoke and convey electrifying images and emotions: Listen to "Wait A Minute" and you may feel like you can run through a brick wall, or at least make it through to holiday break. Phresher is the type of artist that sounds even better live, catch him at SOB’s on 12/20. – Henry Solotaroff-Webber
New Music Video: “Qiet” – Vita and the Woolf
Vita and the Woolf are beautifully captured in a warehouse maze in their new video for the single "Qiet". Produced by Kaleida Studio and Silver Sound, the appearance of calm before a much-needed release tugs and pulls at the backbone of the recording, whirling us through the exciteable chorus. The video was directed and edited by Jukie Gratz. You’ll find the track on their upcoming album, Tunnels, which is due out April 21 via Believe Digital.
Chrissy & Hawley
Chrissy & Hawley have released a video for single “Love Again”. The track comes their recently released self-titled debut album. Last month the band released a 12’ remix EP for the track as well feature contribution from Shady P, Jackie House and others.
The Watters Let the Soul Flow on Great Unknown
Hailing from Sedona, the Watters came to Austin with lofty aspirations and their latest full-length album, Great Unknown, proves they’re on their way. Jenna Watters sings with a delicate fortitude that weakens one knees while her husband, Dan, provides deft guitar melodies that are complimented by a bold brass backing section. Production on Great Unknown is unabashedly expansive and the big band sound packs a whallop, but the songwriting is also intimate, striking a balance that draws comparisons to Fleetwood Mac. The Watters have incredible range and a surplus of talent, which is no surprise that they have a headlining show at the Mohawk on Thursday, December 15th. Dan and Jenna have unmistakeable chemistry and with talented group of musicians around them, there doesn’t seem to be anything holding them back.

Diablogato Plays Firehouse 13 on 12/16
You’ve undoubtedly heard the musical elements and influences that make up Diablogato‘s distinct sound, but you have never heard them put together quite like this. Fusing together rockabilly, punk, folk/Americana, and "gothic southern swamp darkness", Diablogato creates a unique potpourri that is all of those things and more (think Josh Homme meets The Stray Cats, with a bari sax thrown in for good measure). If you’re in the mood for some dirty, squealing, high energy rock n roll, jump in your Cadillac and head down to Firehouse 13 in Providence on 12/16, where they’ll share the stage with Cactus Attack and Tiger Man Whoa! –Brian Varneke
Q&A with Miniature Tigers about gear the creative process
Miniature Tigers first release since 2014, I Dreamt I Was A Cowboy is a short departure from the group’s previous releases–often unpolished, organic, and lovingly displaying the dirt and hiccups that come from recording via couch surfing. Charlie Brand, the band’s vocalist, guitarist, and one of the main forces spearheading the recording of the album, was kind enough to talk to our sister blog Delicious Audio about the making of the record, his inspiration, and some of the gear that gives the band their distinctive feel – check out the link to the interview below!

Playlist! Oh My Rockness’ list of ‘NYC’s Hardest Working Bands of 2016’
Our friends at OhMyRockness know a thing or two about what band plays where in NYC, and every year in December they publish the list of the local artists that played the most shows in the past 12 month: it’s the ‘NYC’s Hardest Working Bands of 2016’ list. It must be noted that, since OMR’s deals with "Indie Rock" live listings, you won’t find any songwriters or DJs or funk bands in this list. It seems like all bands are guitar based too for some reason. Since we were in the mood, we created a Soundcloud playlist of these ten artists, check it out below!
Zula premieres video for “F*ck This,” plays Trans-Pecos on 01.06
On Zula‘s new single "F*ck This," from their new 8 track mini-album ‘Grasshopper,’ at second 22, after a plodding intro, a misleadingly incoherent drum pattern triggers the thought that "this band actually wants to f*ck with us" – a thought to be read in the somewhat platonic acception most commonly used in the sentence "don’t f*ck with me!". Here at The Deli, though, we never say that because we absolutely love to be f*cked with in any possible way, but in particular when the f*cking ‘agent’ is music. Often we actually go through long periods of sadness due to the fact that we don’t find any bands interested in f*cking with us, dammit! So let’s enjoy Zula’s new single and video together, from a band that already gave us a NYC Record of the Month back in 2014. Like Italians, Zula do it better – don’t miss their upcoming live show at Trans-Pecos on January 6th.
Auditorium releases ominous new video for “Fire Fire Ocean Liner”
It’s a tall order to name yourself Auditorium. The baroque pop project sure lives up to the lofty name, though, as the full choral harmonies and vibrant acoustic guitar flourishes masterminded by multi-instrumentalist Spencer Berger could capture the attention of thousands who seek a powerful dose of musical uplift. Berger’s latest single, "Fire Fire Ocean Liner", displays his ease at creating subtle but tangile drama with a flightly romanticism that’s startling. The promo cut’s artistic direction only enhances his willingness to subvert conventions regardless of how it may rebut their otherwise palpable optimism.
Auditorium’s new album, The First Music, will be released on January 27, 2017. Juan Rodríguez

New Music Video: “Lookers” – The Menzingers
Directed by Sean Stoute, the new video for The Menzingers‘ "Lookers" peeks behind the curtain. A serene reflective song with a rumbling enthusiasm, the track pairs well with the black & white footage, depicting the fervor of live performance and the tranquility of the traveling process. The single is featured on the band’s forthcoming album After The Party, available on February 3 via Epitaph. They’ll also be performing next in Philly on Friday, March 31 at The Fillmore.
